BRC are currently recruiting for a housing association in Cumbria for a legal and compliance manager to join the team on a 6-9month temporary contract.

The main purpose of the role is to support the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources ensuring the effective management of the housing association’s responsibilities in relation to company secretarial, governance, compliance, reporting and communications. You will be required to actively research, develop and participate in initiatives to strengthen and raise the profile of the organisation.

Essential Requirements:
• Proven successful relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience, knowledge and understanding of the legal, governance and statutory framework
• Proven management ability in working in a changing environment with a diverse team
• Knowledge and understanding of legislation and procurement frameworks
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities
• Good report writing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Knowledge and understanding of corporate and business planning Qualification

Desirable Requirements:
• Appropriate Company Secretarial qualification or QBE
• Membership of a professional financial Body
