WISH Yorkshire and Humber Region Holds Summer ‘Get Together’ Fun Cocktail Making Evening

WISH
Yorkshire & Humber held their 2017 summer get together in the wonderful surroundings of the Cooper Art Gallery in Barnsley town centre. The event was kindly sponsored by NPS Barnsley and around 26 people joined us for an enjoyable evening.

Aaron Jones, our guide for the night, provided a great evening that included showing all how to make 2 cocktails, with a brief talk on each including how to make your own sugar syrup and the origins of gin. The evening included the chance to enjoy the art on display in the fabulous Cooper Gallery bringing a touch of culture to the event.

All then were able to make their own cocktails to enjoy, including the Bramble, which proved very popular including gin, sugar syrup, lemon juice and crème de cassis, a perfect summer drink, that was served over crushed ice to make a refreshing drink.

Followed by the Martinez – a blend of liquors including gin, this proved an acquired taste with a split opinion ranging from delicious to disgusting!

Whichever way people looked at it, all agreed that the evening was a great way to relax amongst great people, network and make new connections, whilst learning about gin! NPS Barnsley also provided all with a great goodie bag and one lucky winner won a bottle of Mason’s Gin!

Here are some of the comments received:

“Everyone was so welcoming, we had a fantastic time”

“What a great way to reconnect with old friends and make new connections in such a great environment”

“What great fun, I had a lovely evening and will definitely come to a WISH event again!”

Thanks to NPS Barnsley for sponsoring the event and the Cooper Art Gallery for looking after us!

Speaking in Public, Thursday 16th November, venue to be confirmed

Other feedback tells us that although we have such incredible women in our network many lack confidence, especially when it comes to talking about themselves, so this event seeks to help!

Titled as “Speaking in Public as Yourself” you will be taught how to prepare your 1 minute introduction for use when networking and everyone leaves with the skills to use when networking in the future.
