This role will be based in Portsmouth on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. Although based in Portsmouth, you’ll be required to travel and work from any of our sites when necessary.
Here’s the facts about the role:
As a repairs supervisor, you’ll line manage a team of trades staff who specialise in a range of skilled trades. You'll have regular 1-1's and performance reviews with each team member; managing any absence and performance issues where needed.
You’ll also recruit new staff and take necessary action to make sure your team remain fully skilled, flexible and high performing. You'll carry out ‘work in progress’ inspections to ensure work is being carried out safely, accurately and on time (in line with set timescales).
You’ll need to be sure that your team are always acting appropriately and professionally. With our focus on delivering a good customer experience, you’ll carry out complaint investigations and act to resolve matters quickly.
You'll need to have a proven track record of being a great leader who’ll help to motivate the team to deliver a ‘right first-time’ service. You’ll have some good IT skills, be organised and able to work well under pressure.
You’ll have good overall technical knowledge of repairs and maintenance services (especially health & safety processes and procedures).
Knowledge or experience of working in social housing would be beneficial.
