Looking to develop experience in Policy and Governance within social housing? If so, our new Policy and Governance – 24 months, fixed term role could be just what you’re looking for.

We’re looking for somebody who is keen to develop and is passionate about creating effective and inclusive policy and governance arrangements. Would suit a graduate or somebody with transferable skills looking for an opportunity to gain experience.

• Full time, 37 hours per week
• Salary up to £25k per annum
• 28 days annual leave
• Hybrid Working Based in Ashington, Northumberland

Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Governance, you will support the delivery of key strategic projects that will really make a difference in an exciting, fast paced organisation. Bernicia is one of the North East’s largest and most successful housing providers; building, renting, selling and managing homes as well as providing services to over 60,000 customers. This is a newly created post within the Corporate Governance team which also includes Corporate Social Responsibility and Comms. It’s an ideal opportunity for somebody to work at the centre of the business, gaining understanding in the workings of the whole governance structure across different Boards and Committees and to work alongside a broad range of leaders across different functions.

Opportunities to lead and work on different projects will include:

• A Board Development Programme to support diversity at Board level Review of our policy governance
• Develop our response to new regulation
