The role will combine consultancy across a range of areas including building safety, property compliance, repairs, asset management and procurement, as well as broader management i.e., organisational structure and performance management. This will be primarily to the social housing sector but may also include the private sector i.e., private housing/property providers/contractors.

The candidate will deliver, and support a range of consultancy projects, including those that are complex in nature.

Please note direct experience of all the consulting areas is not a prerequisite. However, some experience would be advantageous.

 

Key Accountabilities Responsibilities:

• Deliver, and support effective consultancy projects - this includes project scoping and planning, client meetings, stakeholder communication, data analysis, research, and report writing and project close. The job holder must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be adaptable to different environments and stakeholders.

• Build stakeholder trust and confidence - a critical part of this role is the ability to build rapport. The development and management of client relationships is integral to the role, together with the ability to speak with confidence to a range of audiences on a range of property and housing matters.

• Deliver “billable hours” (to be agreed) - please note this is not a sales target - this is part of resource planning and overhead management - and will be agreed with the consultant. Thought leadership, including the scoping, planning, and undertaking of research associated with clients, projects, sector development etc.

• Directing others, critically appraising, and evaluating research, translating it into points for action, and disseminating pertinent information where appropriate.

• Data analysis - Interrogating, appraising, and evaluating data as part of consultancy projects (can also direct others in the team or wider business for large data projects).

• Client engagement - Drafting client reports to a high standard and presenting information in the most appropriate way to meet client needs. The ability to write clear, focused, and coherent reports which are complex, strategic, and analytical is a prerequisite, therefore excellent communication skills are required.

• Presentation and facilitation to a range of levels and stakeholders including executive teams, boards, and external organisation such as regulators and conference audiences.

• Business Development and Marketing - Develop and manage client relationships to ensure a high level of client satisfaction and advocacy.

• Horizon scan to identify potential areas for business opportunities and work with clients to understand and capitalise on their needs.

• Provide and support marketing activity which may include drafting of blogs, new articles, case studies etc. as well as attending events.

• Working with the Head of Consultancy and the marketing team to develop and deliver a business growth focused marketing and communications plan. Personal specification and requirements

• Technical Qualifications - Professional qualification or degree qualified.

• Functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level.

• Picks up technical things quickly; can learn new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.
