This is an exciting opportunity for a BI Analyst to join our team on a temporary basis for 9-12 months. The main purpose of this role is to analyse data from systems and databases, apply business sense and excellent communication to present findings to the business to support and challenge business processes.

Support the Organisation’s reporting systems, ensure reports are functional and available. Assist the Data Custodians maintain data quality, consistency and accuracy through the provision of supporting reports, dashboards and other useful information.

Running ad hoc data extracts and presenting the output in appropriate formats to support the business as required Responding to user requests for information, build new reports or amend existing, complete data analysis, consider use of trends, expand data warehouse capabilities as required. Take leading role with respect to the provision of information in the form of PowerBI dashboard, using innovative ways to present data.

 

Key Accountabilities:

1. Date extraction and analysis

• Extract data from multiple sources

• Sift and analyse data from multiple angles, looking for trends that highlight problems or opportunities

• Communicate important information and insights

• Help improve Data Literacy within the organisation

 

2. Assist the Application Support Managers in maintenance of Organisation’s Reporting Systems

• Assist in conjunction with the Application Support Manager(s) to write and produce management information reports to support information transparency and performance management.

• Support and train users as appropriate in accessing and understanding reports.

• Liaises with users to develop new reports/reporting systems where these are required to support management priorities

• Liaises effectively with managers to understand performance reporting requirements

• Liaises effectively with colleagues to ensure required information for reporting is being collected and relevant data is being properly entered onto IT systems

 

3. Provides ad hoc data analysis, data queries and reports

• Develops and maintains skills to execute data queries and build reports from various sources and systems the Organisation operates

• Provides a responsive and timely service to users

• Produces reports to agreed formats and timescales

• Carries out analysis of data as requested

 

4. Assists with data entry, data cleansing and other general administration

• Assist with running analysis and reports to support data maintenance, cleansing and accuracy

• Through data mining and analysis identify trends of areas where data inaccuracies might be occurring and suggests solutions to bring about improvement.

• Carries out general administrative duties as directed

 

5. Creation & Maintenance of PowerBI dashboards

• Develop and Maintain PowerBI dashboards for the Organisation

• Work with Business Users to define and deliver dashboard requirements for the organisation

• Ensure accuracy of information being presented in the PowerBI dashboards

 

6. Provide quality and effective IT service desk support

• Provide 1st line service desk support with excellent communication when required

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line as require for the support of the reporting systems

• Analyse and find solutions to issues raised by users.

• Be professional and courteous at all times.

• Provide quality customer support and care

 

7. Organisational Role

• Provide assistance to the BI & Data Manager and Head of IT as required.

• Assist BI & Data Manager and Head of IT in managing projects through project plans and other project related documentation.

• Participate effectively in meetings 8. Corporate Role

No job description can be entirely comprehensive and the job holder will be expected to carry out such other duties as may be required from time to time and are broadly consistent with the job description and status of the post within the organisation.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining PowerBI dashboards for the organisation

  • Have PowerBI / SQL experience
