This role sits within the Assets Directorate and contributes to the overall asset management function.
Provide cost control in Stonewater’s national contracts and projects.
Prevent waste within existing operations and identify better and more economical ways of delivering services.
Contribute and assist in the development of long-term strategic relationships with key partners.
Ensure all areas of operational responsibility are shaped by Stonewater’s key values.
Contribute to the delivery of the corporate and assets strategy to ensure organisational service direction and strategic objective targets are met.
Lead on the management of cost control within multiple national contracts and projects.
Monitor contract / project costs and make recommendations on removing / preventing waste and better, more economical ways of delivering contract services and projects, including real digital innovation.
Responsible for cost benchmarking/development, value engineering and effective project reviews for national contracts and projects.
Contribute to the development of long-term strategic relationships with our key partners to create shared value.
Contribute to embedding and sustaining Stonewater’s key values across all national contracts so that values are aligned, and all parties have the opportunity to create social and economic value.
Contribute to the building and management of sustainable and meaningful partnerships so that our contractors are resilient, and profitable whilst delivering good quality services in the way our customers expect.
Assist in the design of Customer involvement strategies to ensure that residents have a voice in shaping and improving cost management outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures to ensure there are no statutory, regulatory, or contractual breaches.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience Required
Proven experience of delivering effective cost control within multiple contracts / projects.
Demonstrable experience of preventing waste and delivering better and more economical ways of delivering services within contracts/projects.
Proven experience of developing long-term strategic partnerships.
Highly developed communication skills with experience of presenting to a range of audiences.
Proven experience within a commercial environment. Proven experience of identifying, designing, and implementing digital innovation and solutions.
Highly skilled in assessing financial information, devising, and implementing appropriate solutions to drive costs down whilst improving economic and social value.
Knowledge of building components.
Knowledge of building law, regulation, building contracts, contract law and health and safety legislation and best practise.
Educated to Degree level or equivalent, preferably in Quantity Surveying and accredited by RICS.
A full UK driving license with the ability to drive as and when required by the business.
Scale and Scope of Role
Responsible for cost control within multiple national revenue and capital contracts, including special investment and regeneration projects.
Responsible for quarterly and annual reviews of costs within multiple national contracts and projects and make recommendations for improvements.
Ensure commercial risks and opportunities are understood mitigated/exploited as appropriate.
Requirement for shift work around extended core hours with Saturday and bank holiday working.
