Lovell supports Women in Social Housing

Women in Social Housing (WISH) has teamed up with housing experts Lovell, with the firm becoming a national sponsor of the WISH network.

WISH is a unique network dedicated to encouraging women to choose a career in housing or construction.

The organisation undertakes crucial work in challenging stereotypes and helping to remove barriers for women working in these industries. It assists women in both the public and the private sectors.

The new partnership with Lovell, who have an ongoing commitment to building futures and changing lives, will be a key factor in helping WISH build its network and deliver new events and services for members.

As part of the partnership, Lovell will be able to support staff to access the range of networking and learning opportunities provided through WISH, helping them to reach their full potential and recognising the barriers women can face in more traditional and often male-dominated environments.

Bruce Boughton, People Development Manager at Lovell said:

“Lovell is delighted to be able to sponsor WISH and the very valuable work it does.  We know there is more to be done in building a more diverse workforce in Lovell and the wider construction industry.

“This is especially true for women and we are keen to explore ways we can welcome talented and enthusiastic women into our business, and then encourage them to rise through the business.

“Female representation at the highest levels of our business is a particular focus, and working with WISH will contribute to reducing the gender pay gap as well as ensuring Lovell is a female friendly business.”

Nicola Dibb, Executive Director & Founder of WISH, commented:

“We are thrilled that Lovell has agreed to sponsor our work. Working in partnership with companies like Lovell enables us to do more fantastic work to support women all across our industry.

“It will help us in our mission to address gender equality across the sector and will enable us to support more young women thinking about housing or construction as a career.”

WISH runs its network through ten regional groups across the UK. Members can meet like minded women and enjoy inspiring events in a relaxed and fun environment.

The network takes its work into schools to support young women to consider careers in housing. It also assists women already working in the sector to progress and develop.
