Saturday 18th February 2017
Almost forty attendees representing nearly every housing association and local authority across North Wales as well as other supporting sectors enjoyed a fun and informative workshop learning all about the science of networking and the importance of building networks to achieve our career goals.
The morning began with a light breakfast of pastries and fruit and the chance network, but how effective were we?!!
The session that followed taught everyone that there is an art and science to effective networking. Through a brilliantly engaging and interactive session, Paul showed us how to face our fears and overcome them, how to create a positive first impression, how to break into groups and move on with ease and most importantly how to follow up and build long lasting, genuine relationships.
Running this as our first event of 2017 sets us up nicely as a group for maximising our networking opportunities throughout the year. In this day and age, and particularly in such a challenging climate, effective networking must become a vital business skill and Paul’s workshop demonstrated how it doesn’t have be daunting and how we can all use our skills to achieve our goals.
We’d like to thank Paul for delivering such a fantastic, fun and thought provoking session which gave us all brilliant tips and advice for future networking.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Cartrefi Conwy for providing such amazing facilities free of charge and being very kind hosts.
Our next two events are a drinks and cupcake reception on Tuesday 25th May at Tai Cymru and on Friday 19th May, a Peak Performance Workshop which will be delivered by John Walton, MD/Coach at GB Consulting Ltd. John is recognised as having an accomplished academic profile in sports psychology, coaching and mentoring with his work endorsed by top athletes and professional sports people. John works with a number of high profile businesses and he will be demonstrating how skills used by athletes can be adopted to build high performance teams. We are grateful to Wales and West for allowing us to use their lovely new office space in Ewloe, Flintshire to host this event.
We look forward to welcoming you.
