"How to protect yourself against identity fraud"
on 24th May 2018

Presented by Detective Inspector - Suzanne Grimmer, SCO7 Organised Crime Command, FALCON (Fraud and Linked Crime Online)

Hacking the Human WISH event was hailed a great success by attendees.

DI Suzanne Grimmer from the Metropolitan Police gave a very informative, thought provoking and engaging presentation on how companies and individuals can protect themselves from criminals who strive to steel money, information from individuals and companies, holding them to ransom until money is received to restore their data.

The videos included in the presentation were not only entertaining, but many of the audience were shocked at the lengths criminals go to obtain their goals.  Even a straight forward transaction of buying a cup of coffee and giving your first name can result in your identity being stolen!

Many comments attendees conveyed were. “I thoroughly enjoyed the event”, “I’ve learnt so much”, “I never realized, how easy it was to be become a victim”, “A great evening”.

WISH thanks go out to the sponsors of this event Blake Morgan Solicitors for providing the venue and Mulalley for the wonderful food and drink which was enjoyed by all.

WISH also thanks the presenter DI Suzanne Grimmer for providing such an interesting and engaging presentation that has provided “food for thought”.
