WISH NORTH EAST WINTER NEWSLETTER!

WISH North East have an upcoming January event which is the 2nd in our #WISHlist series focused on ‘Culture’ and sponsored by Karbon Homes.

#WISHlist campaign, what’s it all about? WISH NE launched their #WISHlist campaign in July after 12 months of conversations and events to garner feedback and ideas from their members to really understand “what women want” from the sector and their employers that would help them take control and achieve in their careers. From launch day, we had 12 of our members pledge their support to our #WISHlist, and within 1 month we had bagged our first local authority with Sunderland City Council joining the pledge.

All of our events through the year will be focused around 1 or more of these themes; with some added #fringe events peppered through the year to continue to engage in more informal networking to keep the conversations alive and fresh.

Our first event in the series was held in September, focused around Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and the #wish of ‘Taking Action’. Our second event is upcoming in the New Year focused on culture and our #WISHes around fostering a culture of empowerment through being heard and understood. 

We held our first fringe event in December which was our very first in person event; and it was a purely social and networking one – bringing our campaign to life and into 4D! Anyone who attended can attest to the fact that it really did embody the feel and vibe we always aim to bring to our events (online or offline!) of warmth, friendliness, honesty, openness… and good old fun!
2022 will see more events, more pledges, and more best practice from our organisations who are already putting their commitment into practice!
