For International Women’s Day WISH North West held a joint event with Women in Property. Historically we have found IWD events to be difficult to get numbers at as they conflict with other organisations events, therefore when WIP reached out we thought it was a brilliant opportunity.
We had 2 speakers Cym D’Souza, Chief Executive of Arawak Walton Housing Association, who spoke to us about the challenges she faced when growing up and the challenges of being a female in the sector. We then had Hattie Hasan MBE who is a self-employed plumber and founder of Stopcocks who shared her powerful story of determination. Both were incredible speakers.
