North West Newsletter - Spring 2022

Well we have kicked off 2022 in style with a number of fabulous events and a recruitment drive for the North West region. First was our webinar in early Feb with WISH friend and supporter Hayley Gillard who yet again provided an insight into her world as a coach and mentor. Hayley’s energetic approach is a wonderfully welcoming and she comes across so well online, with her upbeat personality and the energy she brings even to the virtual room. In March as a collective WISH celebrated International Women’s Day starting week commencing the 7th March with events in person and online up and down the country. The North West teamed up with their colleagues ‘Women in Property’ to pull out all the stops in this gathering of women from across the region with two incredible women leading from the front at Manchester City Council. Bev Craig, the City’s first female LGBT Leader putting social value and equitable living high on the agenda. Becca Heron, the City’s Strategic Director of Growth and Development driving the region’s economic recovery, investment and growth plans. Hearing their personal stories, learnings, and motivations as the City’s top leaders. This was a truly extraordinary event, and coming out of the covid bubble a truly collaborative event for our members, we also invited Women in Planning, Women in Construction, along with finalists of the Women in Property Student Awards, and students from the University of Manchester (UoM).

Looking ahead we are excited to be meeting face to face, looking forward to seeing our members at CIH South East in May and Housing 2022 in June. We also have a whole host of in person events to look forward to this summer kicking off with our Empowerment Event in early May looking at life decisions, we have a Building Safety event in conjunction with Pennington Choices in June and more walking tours planned for September.
