WISH South East welcomes two new board members!

 

The WISH South East region is delighted to welcome two new board members to its team. Naureen Ullah joins with more than 14 years’ experience in social housing primarily within areas of development and housing management whilst Lynsey Coombs joins the team with experience in the housing industry across services from legal, marketing, business development and procurement.

Lynsey and Naureen join as the board said farewell to Felicity Reilly who is currently focusing on a new role and her own studies.

Stepping down from the board, Felicity shared:

“I hope WISH as an organisation continues to flourish and develop under Helen’s guidance, and the organisation becomes more inclusive and accessible to those working in housing.

“The South East board is full of wonderful women, who are passionate about supporting each other, and have been an absolute lifeline during the pandemic. And I cannot wait to see them all in person when we finally get back to face to face events!”

 

As the South East board look ahead to their second event this year Naureen and Lynsey can’t wait to get started. Naureen shares:

“I am excited about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to working with the WISH board, particularly with promoting new and working with existing memberships.”

 

Lynsey adds:

“Interacting with such a prestigious group of knowledgeable women in incredibly empowering. I can’t wait to get started!”


Soaring success for WISH South East’s first national event

This month the South East region held its first national event focusing on the challenges the housing sector is facing in 2021 including discussion around shared ownership and building safety regulations.

More than 70 members were joined by Theresa Mohammed, Partner at Trowers & Hamlins LLP and Steve Nunn, Executive Director of Development at Moat who shared overviews on the impending changes to the building safety regulations and the proposed changes to shared ownership as detailed in the social housing whitepaper.

As well as Q&A with the speakers, members and guests also got the chance to discuss the topics in breakout rooms.

 

Melissa Woodall, Chair of the South East region, shared:

“It was fantastic to see so many members at our event and hear from two stand-out speakers. All our events aim to educate and inspire so watch this space for our next event coming up in May!”
