Executive director and founder of Women in Social Housing (WISH) Nicola Dibb and WISH North West Chair Sasha Deepwell have been appointed to the judging panel for the Women in Housing Awards 2018.

Executive director and founder of Women in Social Housing (WISH) Nicola Dibb and WISH North West Chair Sasha Deepwell have been appointed to the judging panel for the Women in Housing Awards 2018.

WISH has supported the event, which is the largest in the sector dedicated to showcasing achievements and innovation, identifying role models and celebrating women, since its inception and has always had a member on the judging panel.

Following its recent acquisition by Inside Housing the awards will be run in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) this year, with a new date and a new location.

Nicola and Sasha, who is also chief executive of Irwell Valley Housing Association, join a panel of 18 judges from across the housing sector, which also includes CIH chief executive Terrie Alafat, CITB chief executive Sarah Beale, British Property Federation chief executive Melanie Leech and Housing Diversity Network chief executive Raj Patel.

“Sasha and I are absolutely delighted to be representing WISH on the judging panel at this year’s Women in Housing Awards,” said Nicola.

“Women remain hugely underrepresented in housing, especially in senior positions and events such as this are vital for not only shining a spotlight on the achievements of individuals but also for raising the industry’s profile and attracting more women into the sector.

“We are both looking forward to reading through the nominations and hearing about the stories and successes of our peers.”

Each category has been designed to recognise the achievements of individuals or projects that consistently demonstrate a commitment to excellence within their roles, their organisation and the wider sector and this year a new Woman of the Year category has been introduced to recognise a truly inspirational ambassador for women in housing.

The categories are:

  • Housing Professional of the Year
  • Young Achiever
  • Board Member of the Year
  • Consultant of the Year
  • Inclusion Champion
  • Finance Professional of the Year
  • Social Media Influencer
  • Employer of the Year
  • Marketing or Communications Team of the Year
  • HR Team of the Year
  • Best Apprenticeship Scheme
  • Improving the Lives of Women or Communities Award
  • Woman of the Year

The Women in Housing Awards takes place on 11th October at Emirates, Old Trafford.
