Women in Social Housing (WISH) has appointed Helen Greig as its new Managing Director.

Helen will take up the role on December 1st, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in the social housing sector as well as a real passion for housing and equality.

Throughout a distinguished career Helen has held many senior roles working for the National Housing Federation as well as housing associations including Tuntum Housing and Action Housing, where she was acting CEO.

Helen replaces Nicola Dibb who is standing down as Managing Director, 22 years after she founded WISH.

Helen said:

“This is a hugely important and exciting time for WISH. I am passionate about improving equality and diversity within the housing sector, and ensuring that women at every stage of their careers have the right network around them to help them succeed.

“We also have a huge task ahead of us to ensure that we can continue to attract the best and brightest talent to work in social housing.

“Nicola has done an incredible job at WISH and leaves the organisation in a very strong position. She has truly helped to give many women a more powerful voice in our industry.”

Nicola Dibb, Founder and Executive Director of WISH said: “I founded WISH over 22 years ago with the aim of challenging gender inequality and the gender pay gap, encouraging new and existing female talent to remain in the sector and championing positive and beneficial outcomes for all women.

“I am so proud of how far we’ve come. I have every confidence in Helen to continue this work and I look forward to seeing how she drives equality and diversity within housing.”

Debra Constance, Chairperson at WISH, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Nicola for more than 20 years, and it is incredible to look back at all we’ve achieved in that time.

“As Nicola moves on, I am delighted to welcome Helen as our new Managing Director. She was appointed due to her vast knowledge and experience, and her values make her an excellent fit for the organisation. I am looking forward to working closely with her to continue advocating for women in housing.”
