• You have a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of IT application management.
• You have significant experience of database and business application development
• You possess effective leadership and management

Principal Accountabilities:

• Provide third line support for Business Applications.
• Develop good working relationships with key stakeholders across the Connexus Group.
• Liaise with Software suppliers in the management of systems implementations, enhancements and support.
• Analyse business processes and associated systems in order to identify and develop system enhancements.

Key systems/technologies, including but not exclusively:

• Mobile Working solutions.
• MS SQL Server databases.
• Web based technologies.
• Asset Management.
• Housing management.
• Financial management.
• Document and report management.
• Support other IT colleagues in regard to major projects such as infrastructure and systems upgrades, ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer to the Service Desk team.
• Use of appropriate planning tools & processes when dealing with project work.
• Responsible for all documentation pertaining to handover to Service Desk, cross training other colleagues and user documentation.
• Produce specifications of business requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of agreed changes.
• Produce specifications and designs for information systems and their components to meet defined business needs, retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures.
• Specify, design, and maintain mechanisms for storage and access to both structured and unstructured information, in support of business information needs.
• Design, create, test and document new and amended SQL packages and programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards.
• Develop, implement, and report the findings of suitable test schedules to measure and improve the quality of IT solutions being tested, to ensure that new and amended systems, configurations, packages, or services, (together with any interfaces), perform as specified.
• Integrate and test components and/or subsystems and their interfaces in order to create operational services.
• Transfer business and/or technical skills and knowledge to the IT Service Desk to facilitate robust service support for new systems.
• Facilitate productive relationships with and between key stakeholders, during the design, management, and implementation of business change.
• Produce abstract or distilled representations of real world/business situations to aid the communication and understanding of existing, conceptual or proposed business systems
• Coordinate the work of supplier and contractor developers during the development, testing and implementation of new or upgraded business modules or solutions.
• Mobilise and co-ordinate and monitor the efforts of suppliers and contractors, in dealing with business application problems referred to second line support.
• Develop, support and maintain the database infrastructure which underpins the Company’s business applications and enterprise reporting requirements.
• Follow the agreed architecture, design patterns and the software development methodology.
• Develop and deliver programs as per the requirements and coding guidelines with minimal supervision, & within the budget and timeframe.
• Mentor & enable less experienced members of the team, with a view to increasing the overall capability of the team.
