Altair
Our journey began in May 2004 with the transfer of 4,345 properties from South Norfolk Council. Today, Saffron Housing Trust (Saffron) has evolved into a leading housing association, managing over 6,600 homes across Norfolk, Suffolk, and East Anglia. It is a great time to join Saffron, our strategy has been refreshed to meet the challenges of our operating environment and introduce new objectives for 2024/25.
Our Board's risk appetite ensures that, while pursuing our ‘Inspiring Saffron Strategy’, we prioritize the health and safety of our tenants and colleagues, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, financial integrity, and retaining our G1/V2 regulatory grading. With our current Chair of Audit and Risk Committee reaching the end of their tenure, we are now seeking to appoint a new Chair.
We are looking for an experienced non-executive, ideally with chairing experience to lead a well-established committee. Sector experience is preferred and regulatory and strategic finance background is highly desired, in particular we are seeking experience in:
We are committed to increasing equality, diversity, and inclusion within our Board composition. We encourage applications from individuals representing diverse perspectives, styles, and experiences, considering factors such as socio-economic circumstances, locality, background, viewpoints, and lived experiences.
We prefer our board and committee meetings to be face-to-face but offer flexibility of hybrid meetings when required. If you are passionate about making a difference in the housing sector and possess the skills and qualities we are looking for, we invite you to apply for this key role.
