WISH London Newsletter 2021

By WISH London

London has some good news to share, we are very proud of Kathryn one of our talented board members. Kathryn is the lead for education on the London board so how inspiring that she has won the G4C Future Leader Award in June.  G4C is a driving force for industry change, through the development and connection of future industry leaders. Kathryn is an Associate (Designate) at West Waddy Archadia, with a passion for inclusive and people-centric design. She is already influencing the direction of both her organisation and the wider construction industry in these areas. Kathryn’s drive for change and her enthusiasm shines through in her work ethic and extra-curricular activities. At WISH she is connecting with young people in schools as well as writing blogs, sharing her findings and educating the industry and inspiring the next generation.

On the WISH London board we are privilege to have a fantastic team of 10 volunteer ambassadors, a team set up early this year to support in all areas for the greater good of WISH London.  The team have been actively focussing on connecting new members, following up on leads and support the WISH

London board to source sponsorships and promote what we do so we can engage with more Women in Social Housing!

Still forming as a group, the team are seeking to make a real impact supporting the overall WISH London objective.  Jacqueline Adusei is our Ambassador lead and is the link between the board and the ambassador and she will be sharing some individual ambassadors stories on the impact they have made in their role in our next newsletter.

Some of the board and our ambassadors came together for four evening sessions over May to take part in the The Art of Presenting workshop run by Tracey our London chair. Here is what one of the board said about the sessions.

“If you'd like to improve your confidence in public speaking then there's a great opportunity to learn through the WISH forum at an affordable price.

WISH London Board members were kindly gifted with a session by our Chair Tracey McEachran and found it wonderful. Watch the space for further details”.

We have run some lovely events this year and continue to look forward to seeing our members for our future events. On the 20th July we are running an event on the subject of women’s safety. It has been a difficult year and we want to create the space for women to talk about their own safety at work and to rise awareness that it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure we all feel safe.

We are very excited at the prospect of having our first live event this year in September; we look forward to welcoming all our London members to that event.

We are already working on an exciting calendar of events for next year as we continue to attract new members and sponsors to bring more and more women together to network, learn and share experiences in order that more thrive and achieve the career they dream of.
