Speaking with confidence was a sell-out event and we were delighted to welcome many new faces. Our guest speaker, Marcus Orlovsky is a TED X host and coaches the speakers so they can get their message across clearly in their 10 minute slot.

WISH Cumbria Learns The Modern Way To Get A Job

A job is no longer for life and with the many restructures affecting people working in the social housing sector across Cumbria, WISH Cumbria has offered support to its members, extending the offer to others in the county working in the industry. WISH Cumbria called upon an HR expert to present a workshop packed with give tips and advice on getting a job (or promotion) in a modern world. It proved to be a very motivating and enlightening afternoon.

Let's Take Action Against Domestic Abuse

There is no doubt of the importance social housing has in providing a safety net for those affected directly by abuse - in all its forms. WISH Cumbria's first event of the year took place the day before the national Chartered Institute of Housing Domestic Abuse Conference 2018.

WISH Cumbria had a successfu 'Mastering the Digital' event in June, with the guys from Comms Hero providing some top Twitter tips and advice. Attendees of the event have been upping their Twitter game on both personal and professional accounts - my favourite bit of advice from the event was to use pictures in your tweets as people love them!
