WISH regions collaborate for communication

WISH North Wales and WISH North West have joined together to host their first event of 2020.

WISH North Wales and WISH North West have joined together to host their first event of 2020.

The event was held at Chester’s spectacular, recently renovated Storyhouse where more than 60 members and friends of the organisation gathered to learn from NLP and EQ specialist; Lynn Williams, as she ‘explored the complex art of communication’.

The regions were thrilled to welcome WISH UK Co-Founder Debra Constance amongst the attendees, who opened proceedings with an inspiring insight to how WISH is making an impact in the housing sector and beyond, across the country.

During the session, Lynn Williams shared her own personal examples to embed the key learnings of the day, whilst bringing in some fun activities to break down the barrier of fear when stretching outside of your comfort zone.

“Know yourself, choose yourself and act differently” was just a small part of Lynn’s message.

Lynn’s coaching was centered around understanding your own ‘internal map’, the science of how the brain communicates, as well as establishing individual communicator types and how this can affect every aspect of life, from day-to-day conversations at work to personal relationships and our emotional intelligence.

Siobhan McCoy from Pennington Choices thanked the WISH network for the event and said: “What a great session on communication. Lynn Williams was just fabulous – so much to take away”

Nicola Brown, Co-Chair of WISH North West commented: “It was such a vibrant and informative event. I’m pleased to see our two regions coming together to put on brilliant events like this, with increased opportunity for networking amongst members. Within the North Wales and North West regions, we are impacting not only those working directly in Social Housing, but in many supporting sectors too, which truly captures the essence of WISH – supporting each other to achieve great things.”

Lynn closed her session with an inspiring statement: “If you’re where you’re supposed to be, it’s not a job, it’s a passion, it’s your purpose”

The event was generously sponsored by Housing Partners, a software solutions company for the housing sector and Caulmert, environmental and planning consultants. Their sponsorship was further supported by Office Envy who kindly provided materials for the event.
