WISH Scotland

Board Membership

WISH is the only membership-based network for women working across every discipline of the housing sector, public and private. Over the last 23 years we have created a vibrant community for women across every region in England and North Wales and we are now delighted to be expanding into Scotland.

Each of our regions are headed up by a passionate Regional Board of volunteers who lead local events and activities. Boards are made up of up to 12 women working in housing and we like to ensure that within each region there is a good representation on the Board of women from the public and private sectors. There are a range of roles and responsibilities available on the Regional Board, all of which provide a fantastic opportunity for personal development, network development and the likelihood of meeting women who will become friends for life!

As a minimum on every Regional Board there are the following roles and together all Board Members will draw upon their collective expertise, skills and enthusiasm to deliver a programme of at least three events per year for the wider locality membership.

• Social Media and Marketing

Chair

The role of the Chair is to work with the Regional Board Members to plan events and shape the agenda for the region. Regional Board Meetings should be held on a monthly basis.

As the Chair of the Regional Board, you will also become a Director of WISH Community Interest Company (CIC) and as such will be asked to attend quarterly Board meetings with the Chairs of the other regions; to share best practice and WISH developments.

Vice-Chair

The role of the Vice-Chair is to support the Chair to deliver the overall aims and objectives, potentially deputising for the Chair at WISH CIC Board Meetings.

Membership/Events/Social Media and Marketing

These are critical roles to support local memberships and events. There is the opportunity in relation to each to attend meetings with other women carrying out similar roles across the WISH network, to learn and share best practice.

We will be appointing the roles of Chair and Vice-Chair initially and subsequently they will be involved in the recruitment of members of their Board.

The closing date for expressions of interest is International Women’s Day on Tuesday 8^th March.
