On Thursday 23rd May, WISH Yorkshire hosted an event on Change & Personal Resilience. The session was kindly hosted by Savills in Leeds and was run by Mark Turnbull from Do-Well (UK) Ltd.

Joined by a small group of like-minded ladies, the session began by each person recalling something they are grateful for. Buying first homes, work, colleagues and family all featured and the discussion really enabled everyone to interact and engage with each other – a great start!

The session then focused on what has changed over the last 10 years, with reference to Universal Credit and social media. Mark then looked at thinking traps and how many of us can catastrophise situations in our minds which ends up leaving us stressed and our internal resilience resources depleted. We then explored 14 aspects of personal resilience which included acceptance, being active and being mindful. Overall, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event and it gave us all a chance to reflect and remind ourselves of the importance of taking a step back from everyday stresses.
